City of Sydney plan to cover 40 per cent of the city in greenery by 2050

The city plans to build on the gains of the last 10 years by implementing planning instruments to continue to increase urban greenery and canopy cover.

Studies have shown extensive canopy cover reduces temperatures on the ground by several degrees, whilst also storing carbon and reducing stress and anxiety within the urban environment.
